Here at Excel we don’t like to use the term “maintenance free” that others may use, because really there is no such material. We prefer to be upfront and say low maintenance. Composite or synthetic decking is the ultimate choice for a low maintenance, long lasting deck. All decking materials have their pros and cons. Excel will gladly go over all the decking options available and help you decide what will be the best fit for you and your home.

What is Composite Decking? It is a composite material, meaning it is made up of several different materials. In composite decking, those materials are wood and plastic. Of course, there are different kinds of plastic and different types of wood that go into making different types of composite decking. The result, in all cases, is a strong, durable plank that resembles wood but has much greater resilience in the face of the elements.

We had Excel build a new 6 x 10 covered front porch. They did an excellent job. I was impressed with the way they conducted themselves while working – no inappropriate conversations or language. The materials used were of a good quality. The porch is sturdy and looks great. People who see pictures are surprised to learn that the porch was not original to the house.
